Commit your life to Jesus
We were created to be like Jesus.
Made in God's image. Genesis 1:26
We were created to know God and to fulfil his purposes
for our lives.
What are you doing with the life that God has given you?
That question changed my life. It awakened my life to
God's possibilities.
To Jesus who says: " I have come in order that you might
have life, life in all its fulness. "
I turned to God's Word and found its truth truly life
changing as I came to know of God's love for us all.
John 3:16
It explained my separatedness from God, my self-centredness,
my sinfulness. Romans 3:23
It told me of a better way. A new life that I could have
because of Jesus through whose life, death and resurrection
God has reached down and reaches out to us in love and
forgiveness, out of grace and mercy, to save us and to
offer us a new way of life through faith in Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8
To know that new life a person must receive Jesus as Saviour
and Lord accept and acknowledge Him for who he is, God's Son
who died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin and make
possible the tranformation of our lives through His gift of
faith given to those who come to believe in Him. A person must
admit that they are a sinner in need of salvation and be
willing to serve Christ with their life. A person must accept
the path of discipleship and be willing to share their faith
in word and deed with others that they too might be saved.
1 Corinthians 6:19b,20
God's Word is His blueprint for our lives. The Holy Spirit the
counsellor and guide He gives to us to spiritually empower us
in His service and spiritually equip us as His Church to live
and witness to the Risen Lord.
John 4:16,17
Saved from sin we are saved to serve. We are called to love
one another. We are called to care for the needy. We are called
to make disciples. To be a living community of the faith
celebrating and advancing God's Kingdom till Christ comes again.
We are called also to fight injustice and to care for God's creation
and well as for the poor and the marginalised of our world.
1 John 4:7f, Matthew 28:18-20
Have you committed your life to Jesus? Romans 10:8-10
It is a decision he calls us to make. To believe is to respond
to his call. To accept his truth for our lives. To be changed by
His presence and His power, to come alive spiritually to God.
To discover His plan and purposes for our lives.
Even as God is touching your life today will you take that step
now. Read the Gospel. Pray this prayer. Share your faith. Join
a local church. Live for Jesus. Do with your life what He would
have you do and be. Now that's Life with a capital L, abundant
life, eternal life and there is no beating it for there is no
better way! Why delay? Commit your life to Jesus today.
Prayer:
Father God I accept that I am a sinner.
I acknowledge that your Son died for me upon the Cross.
I thank you that He did so out of love.
In repentance and faith I come.
Lord Jesus forgive my sin.
Put your promised Holy Spirit within
that I may be empowered and equipped to serve you.
I commit my life to you and confess you now to be
My Saviour and My Lord.
Renew my life even as I believe in you.
This I ask in the name of the Father, the Son and the
Holy Spirit.
Amen.
